HER Lawn Co started at our dinner table, the place where most of our biggest decisions are made. We were talking about the future again, the kids we hope to have one day, and what we want them to be proud of when they talk about us.
We had mentioned starting a business more times than we can count, but most ideas stayed exactly that. This time felt different. It felt like something we were meant to build. Something real, something ours, something our future children could point to and say, “My parents started this from nothing.”
Lawn care may not sound emotional, but for us it just made sense. We love homes that feel cared for. We love the smell of fresh cut grass and the look of a yard that suddenly feels lighter and easier to breathe in. Most of all, we love being able to serve our own community in a way people can actually see.
Jager and Cooper are part of it too. They ride in the truck, leave nose prints on the windows, and remind us that home and family are the reason we are doing this.
We know there are plenty of lawn care options in Knoxville. We do not want to be the biggest. We want to be the one that feels personal. The one where you know who is in your yard, who is answering your message, and that your money is going directly to a local family that cares.

Shiann comes from a background in addiction and behavioral health, where she spent years supporting individuals and families as they fought for stability, safety, and a chance at something better. That work shaped the way she approaches HER Lawn Co with compassion, clear communication, and a genuine desire to make life easier for the people they serve.
Her long term vision is to grow the company into a place that provides meaningful opportunities for people in recovery and, one day, offer support to women leaving difficult situations. Shiann handles the client experience with care and intention, making sure every homeowner feels valued and every project reflects the heart behind the business.
Dylan Clephane
Co-Founder
Director of Field Operations
Dylan grew up around job sites, tools, and long workdays, developing an early appreciation for hands on work and the satisfaction of doing things the right way. His experience in concrete, glazing, construction sales, heavy equipment, and procurement gives him a strong foundation in both the technical and practical sides of the field.
At HER Lawn Co he brings that expertise into every yard with attention to detail, consistency, and pride in a job well done. Dylan leads the on site operations with a calm, steady presence and a deep respect for the homes and families they serve, ensuring each project is completed with care, quality, and the kind of standard he would expect for his own home.
